  • Have four or more partners
  • Earn a minimum of $2.5 million in revenue per year
  • Be growth oriented
  • Have dynamic, outgoing and personable partners
  • Be an efficient, high-quality firm, well respected in your market and a good business and professional citizen
  • Be willing to actively participate in the association to derive maximum benefit

Smaller firms interested in association membership should contact CPAmerica’s subsidiary network of independent CPA firms, CPAConnect.

General Membership Process

Application

A prospective member firm must meet certain criteria for membership and complete a CPAmerica membership application as required by CPAmerica bylaws.

Preadmission Review

After submitting the membership application, a prospective member firm must undergo a preadmission review to evaluate the acceptability of the firm for CPAmerica membership. A two-person review team, made up of leading partners and/or partners of existing member firms, uses the following criteria to evaluate that acceptability:

  • Quality of the firm (technical, management, image, personnel)
  • Potential contribution to CPAmerica
  • Anticipated participation in CPAmerica activities
  • Geographic location (shall not have an office within the primary practice area or within 50 miles of an existing member unless recommended by at least a three-fourths vote of the Board of Directors). Click here for current open market areas.

The review team then submits a final report within five business days to the CPAmerica executive office.

Board of Directors and Council of Members Ballot

The preadmission review report and membership application are circulated to the CPAmerica Board of Directors for their consideration and recommendation to the Council of Members. A two-thirds vote on the applicant firm is required from the Council of Members.

Once approval has been given, the prospective member firm will be notified immediately of its membership acceptance.

New Member Orientation Program

To acquaint the partners and personnel of the new member firm with the opportunities, programs and practice enhancements that make “The CPAmerica Advantage” so unique, a half-day, on-site complimentary New Member Orientation Program is scheduled soon after firm acceptance.
