Farmington CPA Firm HarperWhitfield Elects Todd Shelansky, CPA to Managing Principal, Announces Firm Name Change and Personnel News

Farmington, Connecticut (April 1, 2024) — HarperWhitfield P.C., a certified public accounting firm with offices in Farmington and Weatogue (Simsbury) announces the election of Todd Shelansky, CPA to Managing Principal; the streamlining of the firm’s name from Harper & Whitfield, P.C. to HarperWhitfield P.C., including a new firm logo; and personnel news regarding Dale Boutot, CPA joining the firm as a Director and the promotion of Agatha Hueller, CPA to Supervisor.

Mr. Shelansky joined HarperWhitfield in 1994 after graduating from Western New England University. The firm promoted him to manager in 2003 and elected him a principal in 2015. He provides tax planning and compliance services to individual clients and accounting and tax services to a variety of closely held businesses and their owners. His clients include those in the manufacturing, construction, professional services, consulting, investment advisory, and real estate industries, as well as not-for-profit entities.

Mr. Shelansky, a lifelong resident of Hartland, is the President of the Board of Trustees of The Master’s School, finance chair of Bethany Lutheran Brethren Church, and chair of the Hartland Recreation Commission, where he has coached basketball and soccer for 16 years.

As part of the firm rebranding accompanying its new leadership, the firm decided upon the more concise “HarperWhitfield” to supplant “Harper & Whitfield, P.C.” “It’s how people refer to us already, we just made it official,” Mr. Shelansky noted. “We designed a new logo to accompany the name change, its upward arrow represents continuous progress and our focus on anticipating, interpreting, and implementing change,” Mr. Shelansky explained.

DALE BOUTOT, CPA named Director

Dale Boutot, CPA of Bristol has joined HarperWhitfield as a Director. Mr. Boutot has more than two decades of public accounting experience in assurance services and tax services to individuals, partnerships, and corporations. His experience covers a variety of industries, as well providing services to high-net-worth individuals. He also specializes in coaching and mentoring firm team members.

AGATHA HUELLER, CPA promoted to Supervisor

Agatha Hueller, CPA of Newington has been promoted to Supervisor, a position that comprises increased mentoring and staff training, client communication, and reviewing responsibilities. Ms. Hueller works in both tax and accounting. She joined the firm directly from her position as a co-op accountant through the firm’s relationship with Central Connecticut State University.

“Along with our revised name and new logo, we have introduced our new firm vision: ‘Our Firm – Built with Our People, on Our Mission, for Our Clients,’” Mr. Shelansky said. “It succinctly describes what drives HarperWhitfield as a firm. Our people are our assets and without them we would not be able to provide the excellent client service we do; our mission is ‘Excellence in Service, Commitment to Our Clients, and Trust in Our Relationships.’ Our clients,” he stated, “are the reasons why HarperWhitfield exists.”
